Haut Marais

Bienvenue a le ’ Haut Marais’ aka the upper Marais [s.v.p no calling it NoMa or UpMa or whatever cringe 2000’s-era real estate neighborhood naming conventions are still circulating…

Le Haute-Marais neighborhood is where you can flâner, frenchly, [with our brutally-curated neighborhood guide] to trendy shops (although sadly the mainstream brands continue to take over), boutique hotels, posh galeries, worth-your-time museums like Le Musée Picasso, Le Musée Carnavalet, Le Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (the Museum of Hunting and Nature—much, much cooler than it sounds, trust me), tiny and charming restaurants and bistros, gorgeous architecture and parks; le Haut-Marais has it all. The busy streets are rue Vieille du Temple, rue de Bretagne, and rue de Turenne. But wander the smaller streets, instead. They’re filled with surprises, and almost no cars

This is where we go on the weekends when we don’t know what else to do — it’s always worth the wander. here is the < paris : DEFINED > do-this EDIT »>

Or abandon the whole ‘thinking for yourself’ angle and wrap yourself in our < petits : itineraries > for the wider le Marais area which drop on our substack newsletter.
